Couch Potato AntiVenin

CPS- It is debilitating, even deadly. The disease–Couch Potato Syndrome. The uninvolved, uninspired, untouched let-somebody-else-do-it COUCH POTATO SYNDROME. If you are bitten by this black mamba of life killers we have the antivenin. (That is correct. I always thought it was “anti-venom,” too, but look it up in the dictionary!)

Follow these five simple steps:
1. Read the listings below that describe how you can get involved. YEAH, YOU! YOU THERE ON THE COUCH! YES, YOU!!! Decide what you can do and make a choice.
2. Follow the link to the application process (the job’s not even started until the paperwork is done in this case).
3. Raise the money necessary for the ministry trip. See this link for help.
4. Go to the Travel to Chad page and follow the instructions on how to get here.
5. Survive the rigors of your time in Chad and live to talk about it. et Voila, no more CPS!
VOLUNTEER JOB LISTINGS
The duration of the short term visit is detemined by the availability of the volunteer but generally speaking, if they go more than ten to fourteen days we all go crazy! Longer term assignments are certainly possible but require more preparation.
French language skills are not required but certainly helpful.
Construction people–electricians, carpenters, plumbers, bricklayers and anyone who can handle a shovel. All phases of construction are needed as we have several on-going building projects such as the Bible institute, the radio stations, mission housing, and new church plant chapels. If you can do it, we can use you!
English as a Second Language.
Sonia has need of people who can come and be conversation partners with Chadians wishing to learn English. This is low-key relationship evangelism conducted within the framework of the youth center in Moundou.
FM radio personnel.
Computer geeks, radio announcers, sound men with experience in either studio production or broadcasting.
Medical personnel
Doctors, nurses, technicians–you name it and we can use you. We have three bush clinics in need of upgrades, training, specialized skills, surgery, nutrition, and primary health care.
Librarian for the Bible institute
Is there a “Marian the Librarian” out there? We need help in setting up a file system and training others on how to operate it for the Bible institute library.
People who know how to pray
Last but not by any means the least, we invite people to come who will do nothing but pray, encourage, inspire, and challenge. Why go to Maui when you can come to Chad? We have a lot more beach, just no ocean!
